the giant !@#$ing robots are HERE.

wow.

that's all i have to say.

i mean let's face it: if a movie grips you so much that you hardly have the urge to delve into the pick 'n mix or whatever snack bag you have, it's definitely a winner.

and that's what transformers is.

really, freaking, unbelievably cool.

the action was just so intense that once things took off, it never landed till the end.

and some moments were just priceless, especially for all you transfans out there.

if you haven't planned to watch it yet, you better freakin' well have done so 10 minutes ago.

i can't wait to watch it again next friday.

before you start speculating about my demise...

i am home. haha. and while i have thoughts to pen down about the bali trip, i don't think i've time to put them into blog just yet.

i do have time to rave about elite beat agents, as well as my R4 card. i've played around with the skins... and i have a nice new wallpaper now. and elite beat agents rocks. it might seem silly, but tapping your stylus to tunes like ymca, highway star, sk8er boi, jumpin' jack flash and canned heat are just too cool. especially watching the agents, clad in mib-esque black and white suits, dance.

like totally get into the groove dude. all in the name of helping citizens in distress.

and the following song just so happens to be one of those tunes:

You're The Inspiration
Chicago

You know our love was meant to be
The kind of love to last forever.
And I want you here with me
From tonight until the end of time.

You should know, everywhere I go
Always on my mind, in my heart, in my soul, baby

You're the meaning in my life;
You're the inspiration.
You bring feeling to my life;
You're the inspiration.
Wanna have you near me,
I wanna have you hear me saying,
"No one needs you more than I need you."

And I know (and I know), yes I know that it's plain to see
We're so in love when we're together.
Now I know (now I know) that I need you here with me
From tonight until the end of time.

You should know, everywhere I go
Always on my mind, in my heart, in my soul

You're the meaning in my life;
You're the inspiration.
You bring feeling to my life;
You're the inspiration.
Wanna have you near me,
I wanna have you hear me saying,
"No one needs you more than I need you."
No one needs you more than I.

Wanna have you near me,
I wanna have you hear me saying,
"No one needs you more than I need you."

You're the meaning in my life;
You're the inspiration.
You bring feeling to my life;
You're the inspiration.

When you love somebody 'til the end of time,
When you love somebody, always on my mind,
No one needs you more than I.
When you love somebody 'til the end of time...

very, very gone...

cursing my stupidity in a land of beauty

great. i brought my lappy all the way here to bali to do work, found an internet connection that's free here at the resort and i forgot to bring my mmc adaptor and card reader. DOH.

well, i can't show you guys the photos i took of the volcano we visited today, but rest assured, i'll post 'em up the moment i can when i get back.

bali is really beautiful. well, at least it is here at the resort. the waves crashing onto the beach and clear night sky are truly marvels to behold that simply take one's breath away without even trying very hard.

and while i didn't completely enjoy the little tour i had yesterday generally thanks to the family (i shan't bitch in great detail about them here, but it's really annoying when 1) the adults act like tourists who have to announce to the whole world when they've discovered something; 2) mom holds all the money and constantly reminds me that i'm "not earning" and therefore cannot spend money and 3) says i'll go off and buy rubbish while shopping), it had its moments. like watching granma and her sisters smoking tobacco at the plantation and the truly breathtaking view of the volcano and lake. it's been a while since i've visited a highland, so it was really, really nice to feel the natural aircon of mountain air on my skin once again. and though i definitely could've done without being heckled to buy stuff at the volcano, i think my bargaining skills have improved since bangkok. even if ben and i paid over the odds for a batik shirt each cos we were in a rush to renedezvous at the bus. ah, the satisfaction of retail therapy.

on top of the full day, i actually kinda just woke up after drinking myself sorta silly at dinner just now. 2 champagnes, 2 red wines, 3 rum cokes and 1 martell green tea pretty much had me swaggering around like jack sparrow in no time. i won't admit that i was drunk and i probably wasn't, i'll go as far as to say my head was spinning. and with the wedding later on, i think i've only had a taste of what's to come tonight.

but oooo, i can't wait to get my hands on the lovely champagne and peach i got to try on thursday night. lovely and refreshing stuff.

a quick post before i fly...

heading off to bali in around 4 hours, so i thought i'd say something first even though i am brining my lappy along.

firstly, thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes! i know it sorta anti-climactic when the very first one to wish me was dod at 0002, but i'm still thankful for every message i got. ^_^

thanks to the council peeps who turned up last night for dinner at jerry's. it was great to see you guys, especially people like seeks and bernie who i haven't seen in ages. and i love the black pearl. *my* black pearl.

this could be the last post in four days, unless i can find time and a free wi-fi to mooch on. see ya in four.

slacking is serious business...

warning: long, long ramble ahead. with pictures. and gloating. and musing. and pondering. yadda yadda.

so many things to talk about over the last two days, it kinda scares me a little.

but first, we start with the good stuff. *prepares to dodge nirwan's butcher knives*

BEHOLD, MORTALS!

well, pardon the camera phone's poor quality. but, in my possession are the tickets that grant me control of the universe! *cue megalomanical laughter and lightning flash sound effects*

in other words, those are the gala premiere tickets to transformers next wednesday at cine. woot. a really, really loud shout of thanks to james for the them.

and i finally got to see iris again after many many days since her return from oz. it was really great to see ya again iris! and mucho gracias for the krispy kreme. 'twas a high of highs, even when i botched the microwave settings and got a somewhat soggy doughnut.

shrek 3 with becks last night was really fun too. i guess the antics of shrek and co. were a timely reminder that i'm in need of a really good comedy. pity it was such a short movie, cos i really could do with the gags and slapstick. and eric idle just had to be part of the cast as merlin. 'tis an absolute masterstroke.

i also feel mighty pleased with myself for finally buying an R4 flashcart cartridge for my DS... fiddling with some games that i've always wanted to get but never got down to getting feels really good. plus i get to save myself a good deal of dosh.

on a more bizarre note, i almost electrocuted myself today. my mp4 charger, being the lovely and reliable low quality stuff that it is, broke while i tried to remove it from the multiplug, leaving one of the metal pins sticking out from the socket. now, for some stupid reason, i absent-mindedly flipped on the switch for that plug after trying to pull the friggin' thing out. think i wanted to turn off the socket which held my nokia charger so i could pluck it out and use the third pin to try and free the charger pin. fortunately, something innate took control and said something wasn't right and i immediately flicked the switch off and unplugged it from the main.

now, it might seem like a small issue since i am alive and well hacking away at this entry as it is. but after removing the pin with the assistance of a pair of pliars, i just realised how close i actually came to frying myself. i mean i probably wouldn't know how dead i'd be unless i actually touched the piece of metal, but it really did cause me to think a little. sorta like one of those life-flashes-before-your-very-eyes kinda moments.

it's just really freaky how something so innocuous could actually prove to be a possibly life-threatening situation.

and now, i'll end off with another bizarre, but not so somber, note.

'An aggressive squirrel attacked and injured three people in a German town before a 72-year-old pensioner dispatched the rampaging animal with his crutch.

'The squirrel first ran into a house in the southern town of Passau, leapt from behind on a 70-year-old woman, and sank its teeth into her hand, a local police spokesman said on Thursday. With the squirrel still hanging from her hand, the woman ran onto the street in panic, where she managed to shake it off.

'The animal then entered a building site and jumped on a construction worker, injuring him on the hand and arm, before he managed to fight it off with a measuring pole.

'"After that, the squirrel went into the 72-year-old man's garden and massively attacked him on the arms, hand and thigh," the spokesman said. "Then he killed it with his crutch"

just another lazy sunday...

ball with the guys was pretty fun. came up with some new tricks that even got me stunned. and it was real fun toying with dod at one point when the shots and runs just couldn't be stopped from finding the net. heh.

pity the rain spoiled the morning. two hours of ball just ain't enough. though admittedly, i wasn't exactly 100% in the zone. somehow i just felt a little distracted and part of me just didn't let me go into overdrive.

lunch at adam road was good. the nasi lemak was sedap and the chocolate sorbet at island creamery was nice too. it would definitely give the awfully chocolate folks a run for their money in terms of the chocolatey flavour.

other than that... it's been a really lazy sunday. i really need to get to work on the research writing assignment.

o, and by the way, here's a happy 21st birthday wish to becks! hope you had a really good one! =)

counting down to 27 june...

woohoo. thanks to james, i'm getting me gala premiere tickets to transformers. WOOT.

gotta collect them from hasbro's office at albert park this week, and i'm absolutely relishing the prospect of watching the robots in disguise in their second silver screen appearance with david. double woot.

though nirwan's gonna kill me soon if i continue raving. heh.

and keep my beast wars dvds forever.

feeling a little sickish and i suspect the bug came from moses. hopefully i sleep it off cos michael asked me to lead two of the hymns at his wedding - to God be the glory and as the deer. it's an honour and i hope i don't mess them up. i'd rather be reading tho.

and speaking about reading, it felt good to be back up at the ambo again today after a long absence. would've read last month if school and ippt hadn't cropped up, but nonetheless, it felt good. did the second reading, which was galatians. i actually can't wait for my next reading to come, which is in two weeks time.

think i should end this entry off soon. playing ball with the guys tomorrow and it's also been a long while. been really busy with foc stuff on sunday mornings, so it's great to know i'll be back on the court again.

sunday, here i come.

and a new blog thing... what's *your* temperment?

mine sounds sick. literally.

You Have a Phlegmatic Temperament

Mild mannered and laid back, you take life at a slow pace.
You are very consistent - both in emotions and actions.
You tend to absorb set backs easily. You are cool and collected.

It is difficult to offend you. You can remain composed and unemotional.
You are a great friend and lover. You don't demand much of others.
While you are quiet, you have a subtle wit that your friends know well.

At your worst, you are lazy and unwilling to work at anything.
You often get stuck in a rut, without aspirations or dreams.
You can get too dependent on others, setting yourself up for abandonment.

maybe not entirely a week wasted at all...

well, the first ict wasn't as bad as i thought it would be.

it really did turn out to be a chalet of sorts, considering i was active only on thursday in terms of training.

other than the platoon dismounted attack we had where i took up the big ol' gun again to assault a knoll, which was actually quite a therapeutic since the gun didn't malfunction and allowed me to rain a hail of imaginary death upon the "enemy" whilst screaming an expletive-laden barrage at them as well especially after lugging the heavy thingamajig for a good 2 hours, i had the luxury of either not being involved in training or being involved in the technical trainings which were mostly a refresher on the weapons and their respective drills.

it was a great time to catch up with people as well, considering i hadn't seen the other jaguar guys in ages. from the men, to the other specs, to the previous perm staff at jaguar; it was really cool to see some faces after a long, long while.

while it probably won't get any easier from the next ict in, it will be rather interesting to see how things pan out.

i think i've actually learnt a thing or two from the whole experience.

the eagle has landed.

i'm home.

last post in 5 days

as you know, i'll be booking in in under 5 hours. damn ict.

which means you won't see anything new (unless some of you start to talk behind my back with the intent of me finding out by talking on the tag board) on the blog till friday evening or saturday at the earliest.

it's been an interesting sunday to say the least. somehow waking up half an hour before my 6.15am alarm despite sleeping 2-3 hours is remarkable. and i learnt how to fry eggs. and we had a good fundraising at st teresa's, considering we were worried of not even being able to break even.

and i stepped on a lizard while doing up my equipment after visiting beach road. ew.

though dinner was good since it was the buffet at parkroyal hotel for granma's birthday dinner, my sleep debt finally caught up with me and i died at my table after more or less gorging myself. for about 15 to 30 minutes. and because of the stupid ict, mom clamped down on my wine consumption.

well, when i'm finally done with my "chalet" (as i tell everyone), i'll kick back and get myself a nice 4 bottle pack of hoegaarden and try to make up for it. or whatever else i can find/afford.

anyway, time for me to lessen my sleep debt. hopefully i can get some good sleep during admin time tomorrow.

cya in five peeps. sms me if you need me. urgent calls, well... i'll try to take them when i can.

have a blessed week ahead.

woohoo!

that's a "passed-ippt-with-a-silver-which-means-$200-in-the-bank" woohoo.

and i got it by the skin of my teeth. if i were 2 seconds slower, i'd be getting $100 less from uncle lee instead.

hopefully i can build on the momentum and start eyeing the good old days of actually hitting 9 minutes instead. it's a lofty ambition, but something i would really, really love to reclaim.

but before the hardcore commitment to a running training to do that, i think i'll enjoy what i have left of my weekend before ict on monday...

to mw and leo: i promise we'll train together and do what the number tag says. we'll do it man. we'll get there!

and one more... thanks to ollie now.

You Are the Ace of Diamonds

You are a lucky person, and you always seem to find yourself surrounded by pretty, shiny things.
You have a knack for success and money - though your skills can't really be learned or taught.

You shine in a room, and you a have a truly sparkling personality.
A true extrovert, you always are able to share a witty joke or the latest scandalous gossip.

While you do have an eye for bling, you are also quite generous.
A lot of wealth and luck comes your way. And you're not afraid to pass it on.

A gamble you should take: Sports betting

Your friends would describe you as: Captivating

Your enemies would describe you as: Greedy

If you lived in Vegas, you would be: A trophy wife or husband

another one of those blog thingies...

all your fault andrew. haha. ;)

You Are An INFJ

The Protector

You live your life with integrity, originality, vision, and creativity.
Independent and stubborn, you rarely stray from your vision - no matter what it is.
You are an excellent listener, with almost infinite patience.
You have complex, deep feelings, and you take great care to express them.

In love, you truly see relationships as an opportunity to connect and grow.
You enjoy relationships as long as they are improving and changing. You can't stand stagnation.

At work, you stay motivated and happy... as long as you are working toward a dream you support.
You would make a great photographer, alternative medicine guru, or teacher.

How you see yourself: Hardworking, ethical, and helpful

When other people don't get you, they see you as: Manipulative, weak, and unstable

the clock is ticking...

ict next week, which means touting the big honkin' gun again. and all those bullets. well, blanks actually. in that stuffy green uniform.

bali for michael's wedding the week after. which will probably represent my true breathing space this packed-as-hell june.

new module the week after that. along with the pre-module assignments. studying for exams. wondering what the outcome of my whole debacle about working in july will be. as well as the stupid issues going on in school over timetable conflicts and remedial lessons which i do not need to attend.

oh. almost left out ippt on saturday. which means more running.

newswriting assignments.

birthdays. movies. transformers. street soccer boots. shopping. friends. family.

so many things to do. so little time.

and it hurts my brain to think of everything at the same time.

what pet animal would you be?

You Would Be a Pet Bird

You're intelligent and witty, yet surprisingly low maintenance.
You charm people easily, and they usually love you a lot more than you love them.
You resent anyone who tries to own or control you. You refuse to be fenced in.

Why you would make a great pet: You're very smart and entertaining

Why you would make a bad pet: You're not interested in being anyone's pet!

What you would love about being a bird: Flying, obviously

What you would hate about being a bird: Being caged

shopping spree

post number two-zero-zero. and it's a rave about my sunday contribution to the great machine which is otherwise known as the great singapore sale.

well, it's not much. but a new pair of rather nice-looking asics to replace my current soon-to-be-riddled-with-holes pair plus new transformers always gets me a abuzz.

i've usually picked my asics on the basis of their performance and how they suit my high-arched feet. this time round, due to the lack of 10-1/2's of another particular model i was looking for around queensway, i settled for a pair that should offer me the support i seek with a really nice colour to match. the gold-navy-silver patterning on the white shoe just looks great, especially for an asics shoe that usually doesn't take exterior into much consideration.

and if you've seen the transformers trailer, you'll probably know which transformer i picked up. yep, that badass looking helicopter, which makes a really badass figure. transfans across the net have been hailing blackout as the definitive figure for a transformer helicopter, and i'm in no position to disagree. the sculpting on the guy is fantastic, plus with some really great poseability and paint apps, i'm glad i picked this puppy up.

and the little pack on top of blackout's box is a cutesy pvc pair of ol' grimlock and shockwave... anything with grimmie is a must-get for me. hohoho.

the scary thing is, i still have a few items on my shopping list to procure.

enraptured by the moonlight

my camera phone does the midnight sky no justice whatsoever.

if only the i could capture that lovely rich hue of midnight blue in which the celestial orb of light hangs in and show you just how beautiful and enchanting a clear night sky with the full moon can be, instead of that black abyss you see now.

such wonder. such richness. such splendour. yet, such simplicity. to the point where my soul simply melted away in awe as i gazed upon the majestic vault, taking in the view like a sponge draws water.

if only i could accurately show you the splendid array of stars and planets, nestled throughout the galaxy far, far away, which are visible to our gazing eyes.

aye. 'tis a work of splendour as thousands, if not millions or billions of lights combine, infusing our night skies with an orchestra of light, each little dot twinkling to its own beat and shining with its own rhythm.

yet all to the sway of their Conductor, who directs this massive astronomic display, resulting in a harmonious melody of light for us mere mortals upon this tiny rock to look upon with hearts aflutter.
