new year, universal studios and an old girlfriend...

happy new year.

2008 came like a tornado and left like one.

like i've lamented before, time these last two or three years just seems to be slipping by so quickly that its been pretty hard grasping onto what exactly has happened.

but i suppose there's no point lamenting now. the best that i can do is try to match this breakneck pace, even if it seems like trying to grab hold of a stream of fine sand, and make the best of it.

happy new year everyone. let's make 2009 a good one.

============================================================

celebrating the new year here in hollywood was a really different one.

yeah. like no sh*t sherlock. i'm in a different country altogether. hurhur. silly me.

anyway, you get my drift.

we celebrated it here on the hotel's roof with champagne and beer, which isn't a good combination to have by the way if you're intending to stay sober.

some of the others visited santa monica earlier on new year's eve and were a little too close to an assault case for comfort, so we ended staying back.

it wasn't much to be honest. but i think everyone there on the roof deserves a big thank you for making it something to remember, especially considering the circumstances.

2008 may have ended and our time in school together may be winding down. but the ties that bind us together will bring in a good 2009...

============================================================

universal studios on new year's was sorta underwhelming.

especially when you've gotten a taste of pure adrenaline from disneyland's rides.

ok, i'll give them credit for the three rides posted by universal: the simpsons was sorta cool (though i still want my back to the future ride back dammit...) for a motion simulator, jurassic park had dinosaurs (a huge plus in my book) and the mummy had one helluva powerful acceleration and cool roller coaster track.

it did have the ultimate anticlimax of all anticlimaxes, pretty much summed up by ain when she let out one loud "huh?" when the ride ended. it was, however, one of the funniest moments ever.

an old girlfriend?

yeah. you could say that about the lady.

she's a real beauty. sleek, fast and packs one mean punch.

ok fine. i'm just kidding. i can't believe i haven't posted this video up.

airwolf had one of the most wicked theme songs ever for a tv series. it was just... awesome. and especially memorable.

childhood memories are always awesome.

but she really is called 'the lady'...
