hello 2007...

first post of the year. wow.

2006 has come and gone like quicksilver. it's amazing how so much has happened, yet it barely feels like a year. much has transpired over the year. just going through the year's blog entries yields the elections (gahmen say 66% is good enough. not i say one. uncle lee say ok...), the world cup and the usual football stuff(england was overhyped and underperformed. 3 yellow cards from graham poll. zidane turning back the clock and leading france to the final only to end his career in notoriety with his now world infamous headbutt [coup de boule!]. chelsea winning the title again, with united throwing it away towards the end. united now bouncing back and leading the pack. you get the idea...), the passing of steve irwin (crikey mate, we really miss ya. or maybe not so much, with animal planet still showing croc hunter diaries everyday... but we wish you were here with new eps...), escalation of the middle east conflict and the trial an subsequent execution of saddam hussein, dubya and the republicans losing majority in the senate, imf world bank meetings (welcome to the land of 4 million smiles. really. i think we have 4 million people in singapore. and i think we smile all the time. uhm. really. just like how sunflowers and other flowers really do grow along orchard road all year long...)... the list goes on.

and as you have read before (assuming you've been following my past ramblings...), on a personal note, so much has happened. fortunately, God's been pretty gracious and given me the strength and blessings thus far to cope with them. i don't know if i have, but i just hope i've changed accordingly to the times and for the better as well.

with a new year comes new opportunities. opportunities to change. opportunities to improve. opportunities to grow. it's all about grasping them with an open hand and embracing them with wholeness of heart.
