pride...

why are human beings such prideful creatures? no matter how noble we aspire to be, how high we wish to go... pride will always sting one to his or her very core once injured... after a fall, we try to be brave and say, "i'm alright..." but inwardly, we're smarting so bad, it's overwhelmingly painful. despite previous cautions, preparations... the hurt just runs deep... runs so deep.
